quiero decir con esto que sea mala, pero tampoco creo que esté al nivel de muchas de sus otras obras. otro lado al ser tres partes unidas en un único tomo ocurría que si lo leías de un tirón muchas escenas parecían repetirse y volvía a bajar el ritmo de la trama. Even in the short introduction so far, I've grown to like Kenton as a main character. Of course, the one that I was waiting to meet was Khriss, whom most of the Cosmere fans know has a greater agenda in mind. And even though they only appeared quite briefly, I'm keen to know more about Aarik (a good friend of Kenton's) and Ais (a female law enforcer). It's too soon to know where the plot is headed - right now there just seemed to be conspiracies within conspiracies occurring. Not being a fan of graphic novels but being a Cosmere fangirl, I knew I needed to read White Sand. I put it off time and time again until I realized there was a GraphicAudio production (also available on audible) out there! It really helped getting a cohesive narrative to a medium I don’t find easily accessible. Experienced this way, with a full cast of voice actors and sound effects, White Sand was a remarkably enjoyable listening experience. You still get what you want, Taldein (the planet) with its magic system as part of the Cosmere as well as Kenton and Khriss. If you haven’t enjoyed the graphic novel or have been put off by it as I have, you should give this a shot!

Personalmente considero que es lo más flojo dentro del Cosmere y no porque no tenga potencial. Este mundo que ha creado me ha resultado de los más interesantes de toda su obra y ojalá en algún momento decida escribir una saga ambientada en él. Más que una historia sencilla o básica, el mayor escollo a la hora de afrontar la lectura de Arena Blanca es el cambio de dibujante en varias ocasiones. Las inconsistencias en el estilo hacen que la mezcla total de Zitro, Gopez y Casas se sienta desentonada en muchos momentos. El arte es notable, con una mejora considerable respecto a su publicación original, pero los cambios de estilo afectan demasiado al conjunto. Mientras Gopez dibuja como si fuera algo abocetado, con detalles borrosos y poco claros, Ohta presenta un estilo de webcomic demasiado claro respecto al anterior, rematando Casas, que funciona a medio camino entre ambos, siendo más cercano al cómic superheroico. Aunque la historia me ha gustado y mucho, me ha faltado algo o no me ha parecido tan buena como sus otras novelas. Además el final me ha dejado un regusto amargo de final abierto, pues veo que la historia aquí no ha terminado, si no que Sanderson pensó continuar la historia ¿lo veremos alguna vez? ¿En forma de novela o cómic? Oh, and why would a character who has grown up on a world where the sun is always in the same place in the sky, never moving, even have to narrate about that to himself? He's never known anything different, and he's not explaining it to anyone but the readers sooooo... that's just some really clunky exposition delivery right there. The entire thing is like that too. That's what I meant when I said that there's way too much narration to explain all of the worldbuilding instead of working it into the story in some way.

His complete obsession with himself really irritated me and I honestly hope he dies or at least suffers in the next volume. Feels the wrath of Kenton, dares to threaten him. The correlations with him, Drile and the council was just awesome. I loved seeing how these narcissistic characters saw the truth of what Kenton said. Eventually what he spoke of was brightening for them because they understood. Good starting places are Mistborn (a.k.a. The Final Empire), Skyward, Steelheart,The Emperor’s Soul, and Alcatraz vs. the Evil Librarians. If you’re already a fan of big fat fantasies, you can jump right into The Way of Kings. Menos calvos xD esto lo pensé al inicio y es que habían varios personajes calvos que no entendía quien era quien jaja xD vi que le pusieron cabello al amigo de Kenton. Aunque es cierto que a partir del capítulo 12 el estilo de dibujo cambia por algún motivo (¿Será algún error de imprenta o de la editorial? Porque no le veo mucho el sentido.), me gustó mucho el final. No lo vi venir... Y aparece CIERTO personaje (aunque no de le ve la cara) que pensé que no llegaría a ver, pero que al final terminó apareciendo.

As for the story itself, I'd say colour me intrigued. The first two chapters of Sanderson's 1999 draft in Arcanum Unbounded already had me hungry for more. After finishing this first volume of three of the graphic novel adaptation, I've promptly written to Brandon requesting for the unpublished draft and hoping for the best. Following the loss of most of his colleagues in a violent ambush, Kenton has become Lord Mastrell of the few remaining Sand Masters, magicians who can manipulate sand to do their bidding. With the ruling council poised against him, the hot-headed Kenton must become a diplomat to have any hope of preventing the eradication of his people forever. However, there’s another complication: assassins are coming for him from all directions, and Kenton’s only true ally is Khriss, a visitor from the other side of the planet who has an agenda of her own to pursue. cuanto al dibujo, el cambio de artista a mi al menos me ha chirriado bastante, siendo muy distintos entre ellos y notándose demasiado en colores y trazos.Los agregados del Prologo y una o dos partes de Khriss me parecen que te hacen entender más su propósito y rellena un vació en la historia que sentí la primera vez. The characters themselves are also quite interesting: a sandmaster (the aforementioned magic users) on the ropes, a Duchess from the night side of the planet searching for her clues about the fate of her love, and a cop from a force that seems to get no respect and is under siege from the criminal element to name a few. They all have their own agendas, willing to use others to attain their goals in a very complicated world with hidden conspiracies that may reach all the way to the night side of the planet.
