Happiness, sadness, bravery, anger, shyness . . . our hearts can feel so many feelings! Some make us feel as light as a balloon, others as heavy as an elephant. In My Heart explores a full range of emotions, describing how they feel physically, inside, with language that is lyrical but also direct to empower readers to practice articulating and identifying their own emotions. A lovely book to look at different emotions and how they present - the perfect book to use with a young child or in a PSHE lesson at school. Gorgeous, soft illustrations! I'm super critical of contemporary romances, so when I say I LOVE this book, you better believe I mean it! I started reading at 7 pm on a Saturday night and finished at midnight. But instead of going to bed like a normal person, my brain was so full of serotonin that I couldn't help but stayed awake and replay the story in my head for hours! But of course, that doesn't mean they weren't pining for each other. There was so much sexual tension I swear, you could cut it with a knife! And it was apparent with every look, smile, and laugh. They've had so many years to connect emotionally so when they finally connect physically, sparks fly!

There are many reasons to feel different. Maybe it’s how you look or talk, or where you’re from; maybe it’s what you eat, or something just as random. It’s not easy to take those first steps into a place where nobody really knows you yet, but somehow you do it. Children can cultivate this emotional intelligence and nurture a sense of mindfulness. In essence, mindfulness is tuning into yourself and paying attention to the present moment without judging or analyzing what you are thinking or feeling. Practicing mindfulness can enhance many aspects of a person’s well-being, help develop insight and empathy, and enhance resiliency.Seriously tho how that meet cute comes full circle and the way TD brings it all together under the same ☂️ (ella ella – sorry my brain…I just 🙈 sometimes) is such lovely storytelling. This was just so perfect and had all of the tropes I love. Fake dating, single dad, age gap, grump/sunshine, workplace, friends to lovers, and pining!? Seriously, I'm obsessed. Farley and Meyer have been friends for a few years ever since Farley ran into Meyer at his daughter's birthday party. Meyer ended up becoming Farley's manager and they've been friends ever since. Farley has the chance to go on tour with two other amazing female comedians, but they want to drum up interest and excitement in the tour, and what's more exciting than their dating lives? They propose Farley and Meyer fake date, so they agree.

One study I read also gave the example of an award-winning actor. They would never show emotions like an emoji face. And we often don’t either. Again, be careful with broad generalizations.Monster is in a bad mood.Despite our best efforts, reality doesn’t always meet our expectations. There is no need to be upset or mad.

Essentially, social-emotional learning starts with self-awareness and the ability to name your own emotions when you’re feeling them. A boldly illustrated picture book read-aloud about how everyone gets sad—ninjas, wrestlers, knights, superheroes, everyone . . . even daddies have emotions!FF follows Farley (Fee) an up and coming comedienne, to take the next step in her career a suggestion is made that she might “fake date” her manager Meyer who had his own comedic success at an earlier age but leans more into writing now as he balances working with being a single dad to his deaf daughter Hazel (totes book MVP btw she is legit the best!) & wouldn’t you know it but the MCs have lowkey been pining/in love with each other for a while but are each scared of tipping the precarious relationships they have carved out after years of working together following a chance encounter and honestly wonderful meet cute. I think I was expecting more of an unrequited love situation with a fake dating sort of thing that would have resulted in a bunch of laugh out loud funny moments because she’s a comedian… but I didn’t find the book funny at all and the overall vibes were nothing like I was expecting it to be. Meet Ruby — a happy, curious, imaginative young girl. But one day, she finds something unexpected: a Worry. It’s not such a big Worry, at first. But every day, it grows a little bigger . . . and a little bigger . . . . Until eventually, the Worry is ENORMOUS and is all she can think about. Don’t get me wrong - it was super cute and sweet… but I didn’t realize going into this book that it would be a duel timeline (which I’m never a fan of ) with multiple missed chances and years of both of them secretly pining after each other… only to be followed up by fake dating which finally gives them the opportunity to act how they both always wanted to.
