Description

Listen to the sadness in her portraits, rather than having some knee-jerk reaction to the un-PC characters.

Now this copy did have a lot more popping, but i think its because it had paper on it fro the sleeve. Firstly the image: yes, she is striking to look at, but it is anything but an easy look, it's a confrontational look and a mysterious look; she doesn't smile, she looks like she could maybe kill you, given provocation. It was probably dirty out of the factory from those darn paper sleeves, which I immediately replaced with plastic ones after cleaning and you should too. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.

Ending the main album is This Is What Makes Us Girls, which is another one of those songs that could appear to be glamorising shallowness, yet at the same time has very knowing lyrics and manages to hook you into the story it's telling. She has described herself as a "gangsta Nancy Sinatra" and cites Britney Spears, Thomas Newman and Bruce Springsteen as her musical influences.

In addition to several pressing defects on each side, the engineering is not sufficient whatsoeever for any sort of hifi. Million Dollar Man is a perfect indictment of a certain kind of flashy man who women will fall for, only to be mistreated. Sem dúvidas, a sonoridade de Del Rey fica muito genuína no formato vinil, tornando sua voz expressiva e carinhosamente semelhante as grandes divas motown dos anos 50/60. A must-have for fans of Lana Del Rey, and an enthralling experience for listeners who appreciate emotionally-charged, atmospheric music. Del Rey's women are victims, yes, but it's the sincere tragedy of their situations which makes for such memorable music.

This is no advert for female empowerment, but it portrays these doomed and sincere women with great fidelity and affection. The album artwork is a visual homage to the artist's vintage Hollywood aesthetic, seamlessly complementing the music's thematic essence. The vinyl format brings warmth and depth to each song, allowing her hypnotic voice and luxuriant melodies to envelop the listener in auras of emotional gravity and timeless grace. Born To Die" follows Lana's first single "Video Games" which began its life online in July accompanied by a video created by Lana. I looked at what the internet was saying and the reviews seemed oddly mixed between those who said every track was great and those who seemed to have some sort of a grudge against her that no-one could properly define. The songs are atmospheric, orchestral retro-'60s-sounding pop that showcases her torchy image and sensuously husky singing style.

Born To Die is a strong opener and, in similar tones to Video Games, meshes haunting melody and lyrics with a gritty, torch song quality, oddly verging between dirge and pop. Possessing this album on vinyl provides an immersion into Lana's world that cannot be matched - the melancholic sweetness and vintage allure are tangible in every note. Million Dollar Man is an old time dirge ballad with an undercurrent of sadness, and is extremely classy. Dark Paradise is one of the most subtly powerful and devastating portraits of living after the death of a lover that you will find. Sound is overall good, lots of crackling sadly, especially on D side even though I brushed it more than once.
