Description

The funny thing is we have just been away for the weekend and decided to take the electric coolbox as its smaller. For those who love to eat, drink and explore outdoors, the Hi-Gear 45-litre electric cooler is a game-changer.

These cool boxes really only reliably go down to about 15'C below ambient in most conditions ie kept out the sun in a cool place (not hot tent or car! In the hands of the Japanese repro masters at Porter-Yoshida, though, baggage isn't just good—it's impeccably made and shot through with a jolt of retro cool. With an integrated trolley handle and wheels, the cooler is easy to carry and pull around, so you can take it with you to the perfect spot, whether it's at the beach or the campsite. I'm a cynical old bugger, if a company is not heralding the exceptional performance of their product, then I consider it's likely to be inferior to the competition and they've nothing to boast about! It’s good to have the 2 power sockets but one other small niggle is once the leads are pulled out it’s quite difficult to neatly tuck them back in. This was my first experience of an electric coolbox and it didn't disappoint, the adjustable control made it easy to make it cooler or not so cold, everything stayed perfect in the box, with the option of plug or 12v connection meant that it could be kept cold while in the car on the way there and back, we kept it plugged into the campsite electric whilst away.

I've just got back from two weeks in France and I used our cool box to keep my beer cool( and fruit) in 30 degrees heat , it did get down to 3 degrees , which amazed me , but as the recent posters said the water dripping from the cooling element is a real bind, so much so that the outlet of the cooling duct in the lid actually froze up!Because, folks, 2024 is the year Banana Republic found its groove again, digging into its archives to revive jet-setting gems like its nubuck leather weekender, a high-quality riff that looks way more expensive than it is. PORTABLE - Durable wheels and a pull-out handle allow you to transport the electric coolbox to wherever you wish, providing easy access to its contents. This was in UK - I wouldn't be storing meat here if it wasn't getting cold, I know how they work, so would be just using them for drinks when here, but it isn't working at all, that was what I was saying. It also comes with an integrated trolley handle and wheels for easy carrying and pulling, so you won’t face a struggle getting it from your car to the perfect picnic spot.

That's inspired by the old-school MA-1 jackets pilots in the US army used to wear, and it'll keep you goods fly and dry through the worst of it—and remind nosy onlookers of your excellent taste every time you unzip it.

It will keep beer and other food cool but I would not eat any meat that's been in there for more than two days. I did a lot of development work using them on small environmental chambers as an alternative to compressor cooling systems and it involved lots of calcs and data collecting for durability and efficiency,( and yes I destroyed quite a few pushing them too far), particularly as the refrigeration industry was being forced away from CFC's and to repair compressor based systems requires a specialist engineers and kit( different for each gas used). If it doesn't have a battery saver feature, it can kill a typical car/leisure battery stone dead in a few hours, they have no thermostat and just run flat out continuously!
