The Way of Water also gets a separate 3D BD release, and since it was conceived for the third dimension the results are unsurprisingly excellent. While the 2-D 4K disc certainly has a leg up in image clarity and HDR with Atmos audio, I have to say I had more fun in 3-D with my glasses on. Tag in all of the bonus features and this is a very welcome sign that Disney might actually be giving a damn about physical media again and giving physical media collector's their money’s worth. On my PC I play the full 2x1080p per eye resolution downscaled to the per eye resolution of my VR hmd (which I have "apparently" hacked to give me the full 2k per eye).

There were moments when I was impressed with the faces and facial expressions of the computer generated characters. extras, it uses the latter framing, so in which of the two ratios it was actually composed is up for debate. Avatar: The Way of Water will be available on 4K Ultra HD Combo (4K + Blu-ray + Digital Code), Blu-ray 3D Combo (Blu-ray 3D + Blu-ray + Digital Code), Blu-ray Combo (Blu-ray + Digital Code), and DVD.The other key issue is that the film lacks strong emotion, with the key moments not hitting quite as hard as they should.

Half the audience weren’t given the requisite 3D glasses and weren’t even aware it was a 3D showing they were sat in.El Blu-ray 4K se ve realmente bien si se desactiva el HDR, por cierto, si alguien tiene problemas de color con el BR 4K como yo los tenía podéis desactivar el HDR y el Dolby Vision. At least not until the notice informing them appeared on the screen, and off they ran to get the glasses they hadn’t been given on the way in. Pixel-peepers will be delighted, and thanks to a 100GB disc (a first for a Disney release) the bit-rate remains high despite the film's length. There are lots of plot elements that are just left dangling too – at one point a scientist extracts an expensive liquid from a sea creature that’s worth billions of Earth Dollars, but it’s never mentioned again. Once again, Cameron frequently shoots scenes so that the audience is peering through something at the action, highlighting the 3D effects.have the appropriate equipment, this is a thrilling but actually rather surprisingly subtle viewing experience at times. Produced by Cameron and his longtime partner Jon Landau, the 20th Century Studios—Lightstorm Entertainment production stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Cliff Curtis and Kate Winslet. Also wouldn't it be an improvement to add the current 3D format but instead of it being downscaled to 1080p, instead you see the full fat 1080p per eye? I do think that the new “Avatar” film will rekindle an interest in natively authored 3-D, which is what I personally believe is the right way to do it.

Collecting influences from sci-fi books, movies, and indigenous life, Cameron merged high technology with basic storytelling, emerging with a feature that unexpectedly topped “Titanic,” becoming a phenomenon. Just to save 20 percent of the authoring cost of the 3-D, they went with 3-D post-conversion, which takes it out of the hands of the filmmaker on the set and puts it into some post-production process that yielded a poor result. Or they could just use a version of the current frame packed format with 1080p per eye which when played back on a 4k TV wouldn't need to be downscaled to HD. Pandoran jungles and floating mountains benefit from the added dimensionality, but it's the underwater sequences that really deliver, immersing you in coral reefs, shafts of sunlight and shoals of fish. Y ahí es donde esta película acaba triunfando y siendo una de las mejores secuelas que se hayan hecho jamás.For the week that ended on December 9th, Walt Disney Home Entertainment's Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny took the top spot on the both the Blu-ray-only and overall packaged media charts in its debut, dropping Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's Oppenheimer .
